Often considered king of the ceramic family, porcelain is made from a precise composite of clay, quartz and feldspar. It is baked at extreme temperatures between 1,200 and 1,400 degrees C and comes out harder than granite, making it one of the more flawless and resilient tiles on the market for both residential and commercial.

WHY WE LOVE PORCELAIN
Porcelain tiling is nearly completely impervious to water, making it a great option not only for showers, bathtubs and pools, but also for exposed outdoor tiling. Due to its waterproof nature, porcelain can withstand rain and frost and sub-zero temperatures without cracking. Winter may be coming, but when you install porcelain in your outdoor spaces, you can enjoy cooler temperatures without fear.
Due to its hardness, porcelain can also be cut with incredible precision and formed to measure the imagery and texture of wood or other stones. It makes a beautiful, long-lasting floor for any space.
HOW DURABLE IS PORCELAIN TILE?
Porcelain doesn’t crack, but due to its high-firing temperature and incredibly hard finish, it also won’t fade or discolor with age or wear. It’s more dense than ceramic and performs far better in heavily-trafficked areas of your home or business.
Ceramic, while beautiful, shows its age in every chip due to the nature of the glaze. Porcelain hides flaws impeccably. It has the same color throughout the entire tile, so chips (though rare) are barely visible.
Quality porcelain tiling, with a little care, can last a lifetime.
PORCELAIN ALLERGEN CONCERNS
Spring sniffles got you down? Not to worry. Porcelain lacks pores and has an ultra-smooth surface (especially when glazed), ensuring that it won’t attract or trap common allergens such as pollen, dust, dirt or pet dander. With porcelain flooring, you can breathe easy.
Porcelain is also a breeze to clean. It absorbs very little moisture, so you’ll never have to worry about stains or residue—simply wipe clean and carry on.
At LA Flooring, we carry only the top-quality porcelain from tested brands that you can trust. Visit our store today to take a closer look.
