How do I clean slate floors?
Use a pH-neutral stone cleaner — avoid acidic cleaners (vinegar, citrus-based products) that can damage the sealer and stone surface over time. Sweep or dust-mop regularly to remove abrasive grit. Damp-mop weekly. Apply a slate-enhancing sealer annually to maintain color richness and stain protection.
Can slate tile be installed in a Florida bathroom?
Slate is excellent for bathrooms — especially shower floors and bathroom floors where its natural texture provides built-in slip resistance. Use a sealer rated for wet areas and reseal every 6–12 months in the shower environment. Its dark tones hide soap residue better than lighter-colored stones.
